Bump Watch: 'True Blood's' Anna Paquin is Off to a Stylish Start
Though her character on HBO's steamy vampire show "True Blood" is mostly known for wearing a T-shirt and an apron, in real life, Anna Paquin certainly knows how to dress-to-impress. The actress who plays vampire-loving Sookie Stackhouse just announced that she's expecting her first child with husband Stephen Moyer, her costar who plays Bill Compton. The 42-year-old dad-to-be already has a son and a daughter from a previous relationship.
The blonde star debuted her teeny-tiny baby bump on Saturday, April 28 on the White House Correspondents' Dinner red carpet, only about a week after announcing her pregnancy. Wearing a black, draped gown by Herve L. Leroux , the 29-year-old flashed her signature smile as photographers snapped pics of the stunning silk jersey gown. The dress featured black cutouts that showed a lot of skin while still flattering the mom-to-be's figure. Finished off with a messy updo, the look was equal parts sexy and sophisticated, perfect for a celeb invited to one of Capitol Hill's most exclusive events.
The Canadian actress and her British husband, who met on the set of "True Blood" in 2007 and wed in 2010, attended the dinner together, alongside other celebrities including fellow expectant mom Reese Witherspoon and troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan. The ann! ual even t is a chance for journalists to rub elbows with both politicians (including President Barack Obama) and Hollywood stars. Comedian and late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel hosted.
Season five of hit vampire drama "True Blood" premieres June 10 on HBO and as usual promises plenty of sexual tension featuring Paquin's character Sookie, who will learn more about her legacy and the history of fairies.
