Anna Paquin defends bisexuality
Anna Paquin has hit back at critics who suggest bisexuality is made up, insisting gender has nothing to do with who she falls in love with.
The actress went public with her sexual orientation in 2010 as part of an awareness campaign for Cyndi Laupers True Colors Fund, which fights for the rights of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community.
Paquin insists she has no regrets over the revelation, and wants to clear up misconceptions of being attracted to both sexes.
She tells Zooey magazine, Im sure for some people saying theyre bisexual feels less scary than making a statement that theyre gay.
For me, its not really an issue because Im someone who believes being bisexual is actually a thing. Its not made up. Its not a lack of decision. Its not being greedy or numerous other ignorant things Ive heard at this point.
For a bisexual, its not about gender. Thats not the deciding factor for who theyre attracted to.
Paquin is currently expecting her first child with her husband, True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer.
