Anna Paquin defends bisexual label despite being married, pregnant
Anna Paquin may be married to her "True Blood" co-star Stephen Moyer and have a baby on the way, but she says being bisexual is still "meaningful" to her.
"Im sure for some people saying theyre bisexual feels less scary than making a statement that theyre gay," Paquin tells Zooey magazine in a new interview. "For me, its not really an issue because Im someone who believes being bisexual is actually a thing. Its not made up. Its not a lack of decision. Its not being greedy or numerous other ignorant things Ive heard at this point. For a bisexual, its not about gender. Thats not the deciding factor for who theyre attracted to."

ANNA PAQUIN, STEPHEN MOYER EXPECTING BABY
Paquin famously came out in 2010, after she was already with Moyer, in a public service announcement called "Give a Damn." In the video -- which co-stars Elton John, Wanda Sykes, Cyndi Lauper and Whoopi Goldberg -- Paquin declares "I'm bisexual" and denounces hate crimes. She says she does not at all regret doing the PSA, even though her confession caused a media firestorm.
"Absolutely not. I think its a really minor biographical detail," she says of her sexuality. "If youre going to talk about some cause in a way thats meaningful, you should identify why it means something to you."
While Paquin was willing to share this, she says that she prefers to keep most of her private life very quiet.
"I think its important to have things that are just for you and people that are closest to you," she tells the magazine. "Some people share absolutely everything,! but the n what do you have left thats yours? It diminishes whats really special in your life."
