Doppelgnger Double Takes: Perfect Strangers Who Look Like Twins!
They say everyone in the world has a twin and Canadian photographer Francois Brunelle is betting on it. Case in point: If you think youre looking at black and white portraits of twins or siblings, think again. The people in these photos are perfect strangers, who just happen to look like each other!
Brunelle says hes fascinated by look-alikes or doppelgangers, and hes set out to shoot 200 pictures of couples from around the world who, despite not being related, have strikingly and even eerily similar faces.

Brunelle says hes studied the human face since he started out as a photographer in 1968, at the age of 18. He said he was fascinated by the resemblance between look-alikes.
It is not about looking like famous people, he said. The project is about looking like other people. The fact that two persons, totally unrelated to each other, sometimes born in different countries, share the same physical appearance is really the essence of (it).

He calls his collection Im Not A Look-Alike!
According to the photographer, the portraits allow him to explore the relationship between the subjects, and how they react to their remarkably similar features.

Brunelle told the UKs MailOnline: I found my first subjects simply through people I knew who looked alike. Then as the media covered my project, more people came forward to take part.
Brunelle continues to look for subjects, and hes inviting people to come forward so he can reach his goal of photographing 200 couples. He hopes to turn the pictures into an international exhibit and book.
